Commentary: Pakistani Authorites Close Three Radio Stations for Pro-Taliban Broadcasts
Pakistani security forces shut down three illegal FM radio stations after they aired a recording of a fiery speech by Maulana Fazlullah, a radical Muslim cleric.
They say that they have taken into custody arrested eight employees of the stations. They authorities claim they found quantity of illegal arms, ammunition, audio cassettes, and "provocative literature in the stations."
It is glad to hear that Pakistani authorities have taken action against these illegal FM stations. They should also take action against the corruption officials of the Swat Valley who ignored the activities of these militants and allowed to operate them these illegal FM stations.
