Talk to Taliban for peace in Afghanistan
It has transpired that Afghan government officials met with Taliban leaders in Saudi Arabia. It is a good development. Violence in Afghanistan cannot end if they keep Taliban away from the government. A section of Afghan population supports them. It was their support that enabled them to fight foreign forces with ferocity.
There is a growing realization in British and American military commanders Taliban cannot be defeated. That’s why Americans are also supporting the ongoing talks between the Afghan officials and Taliban.
